In a bid to enhance practical learning experiences for nursing students, Joe Morolong Memorial Hospital (JMMH) recently welcomed students from Striving Minds Nursing Academy. This initiative marks a significant step in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application in the nursing profession.

According to a statement released by JMMH on their Facebook page, the hospital warmly welcomed the students and provided them with an induction on hospital protocols and policies. This induction is crucial as it familiarizes students with the operational procedures and ethical standards expected in a healthcare setting, preparing them for their clinical placement.

Striving Minds Nursing Academy, known for its commitment to quality nursing education, currently has 40 students enrolled in the Higher Certificate in Nursing (Auxiliary Nursing) program. Among these students, 12 are from the Dr. RSM district, which includes areas like Schweizer-Reneke, Amalia, Ganyesa, and Taung.

Ms. Evodia Legalamitlwa, the Director of Striving Minds Nursing Academy, highlighted the significance of clinical placements for nursing students. “During their clinical placement, the students get to learn more about skills related to Basic Nursing Care,” Ms. Legalamitlwa stated. “They have the opportunity to implement Basic Nursing Care procedures within their scope of practice in a real-life setting.”
