According to the SAPS in the North West Province, a 41-year-old man was arrested today, 23 July 2019, at about 10:30 in connection with the alleged murder of his 35-year-old girlfriend. The man will make his first appearance at the Brits Magistrate Court tomorrow, 24 July 2019. It is alleged that the suspect killed and buried the victim in a shallow grave at a farm, were they worked.

Police spokesperson ,Colonel Amanda Funani, confirmed that the victim was allegedly last seen with the suspect on Saturday, 6 July 2019, and that the family of the victim reported her missing on Sunday, 21 July 2019.
“The police intervened when the community of Matlhoding, outside Tshidilamolomo, became suspicious of the suspect and started questioning him. Information led the police to the farm, where he allegedly buried the victim. The badly decomposed body was discovered, exhumed from the shallow grave and taken to the local mortuary.” Said Colonel Funani
