MAHIKENG — Tshwaraganelo Primary School has once again put the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati (Dr RSM) District on the provincial map, after its learners helped secure top honours in Gumboot Dance at the Provincial Schools Arts and Culture Championships hosted by the North West Department of Education in partnership National Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC) and Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation (ACSR) features talented students from various schools showcasing their skills in arts and culture in Mahikeng on Friday, 6 February 2026.
In the results announced at the close of Day 1, Dr RSM (Tshwaraganelo & MM Sebitlwane) were crowned overall winners (Position 1) in the Gumboot Dance category — a standout achievement celebrated by the Tshwaraganelo school community as proof that discipline, teamwork and consistent practice are producing results.
The school said, in their congratulatory the boys’ hours of preparation “really paid off,” adding that the win confirms Tshwaraganelo’s reputation as a powerhouse in the category. The school also highlighted that the team are now two-time provincial Gumboot Dance champions, describing the latest title as another proud moment for learners, educators and parents who supported the journey.
While Tshwaraganelo’s Gumboot triumph was a major highlight, the results also show that Dr RSM schools featured strongly across the arts and culture spectrum, collecting top positions in several categories against competition from other districts.

With Dr RSM schools appearing repeatedly among the top finishers, Day 1 results point to a district that is not only competitive, but increasingly consistent across performance and creative arts. For Tshwaraganelo Primary, the Gumboot crown is both a celebration of talent and a reminder of what structured coaching and learner commitment can achieve.
Organisers congratulated all winners across districts, while local supporters hailed the Dr RSM contingent for “flying the district flag high” at provincial level.
