The North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL) has joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and broader provincial leadership in mourning the passing of Hon Modiegi “Meiki” Dikolomela, an EFF Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL).
In a message of condolences, the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon Dr Desbo Mohono, together with the Legislature’s management and staff, extended heartfelt sympathies to the EFF, the Dikolomela family, and the late MPL’s friends and colleagues. The message noted that Dikolomela served the people of the North West with commitment and dedication, and described her passing as a profound loss to the Legislature and the broader political community.
EFF members also shared tributes describing Dikolomela as a fighter who served both the NWPL and the EFF Provincial Command Team with “distinction and unwavering commitment,” with some members adding that her revolutionary spirit would continue to live on in the struggle.
A multi-party moment of remembrance unfolded during tributes, where Hon Mpho Khunou (ANC), chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism, together with Hon “Bontle” Steenkamp (DA), paid tribute to Dikolomela—reflecting, he said, the respect she commanded across party lines.
