The Moral Regeneration School Outreach campaign continues this week in Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Bojanala Platinum District, with a sharp focus on gangsterism and acts of violence, which is a problem in some of the schools in these districts, particularly in Matlosana Local Municipality. The 2 days campaign ended today, Thursday, 15 August 2019, in Rustenburg.

North West Office of the Premier in collaboration with the Department of Education hosted the Moral Regeneration School Outreach campaign as an intervention measure in schools to address ongoing social ills which are seriously affecting teaching and learning.

Issues such as learner to learner bullying, learner to teacher attacks, drug and alcohol abuse, vandalism of property as well as effects of poverty, lack of parental support and child headed households are amongst issues that were discussed.

Learners from affected schools in the two districts, participated in the events. Learners were given opportunity to give accounts of their experiences, what they have been through and what kind of changes they would like to see.
