The police request anyone with information that may lead to the re-arrest of the escapees to call the nearest police station or contact the Investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Peter Mooketsi at 082 469 2075.

It is alleged that the six awaiting trial detainees, all originating from Vryburg escaped through the roof of police cells. The four still on the run are: Sipho Mohutsiwa (24), Hendrik Papier (36), Lawrence Ntwagae (28) and Tumelo Setlhodi (37).  At the time of the escape, the escapees were in detention for various offences including robbery aggravated, housebreaking and possession of suspected stolen property.

The other two detainees, Oageng Senye (24) and Mosimanegape Mohutsana (20) were both apprehended on Saturday 15 June 2019 and Sunday, 16 June 2019 respectively.  Senye was apprehended after his father handed him over to the police in Vryburg while Mohutsana was arrested after the police were informed of his whereabouts still in Vryburg.  Members of the community are further urged not to try and apprehend or confront the escapees as they may be dangerous.

Police are appealing to members of the community to assist with locating and/or provide information that can lead to the re-arrest of the four of six awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from lawful custody in the evening of Friday, 14 June 2019, at Pudimoe Police Station.
