Due to unlawful industrial action, Stage 6 loadshedding will regretfully be implemented by Eskom at 4pm on Tuesday, 28 June 2022, until 10pm this evening. According to the power utility, Stage 4 will then continue to be implemented until midnight.

In accordance with The Vryburg Independent Post Team’s (The VIP Team) interpretation of the schedule, Stage 6 affect part of the District’s Kagisano Molopo Local Municipality areas, including; Ganyesa and Morokweng before the start of the evening peak and well into the evening peak respectively. (See below schedule)

The Vryburg area should expect the last blackout for thenight under Stage 4 Loadshedding. This is as the area has already experienced 2 backouts today already.

According to Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan , there is great anticipation that the illegal strike actions should come to an end on Wednesday, 29 June 2022. This, the Minister explained it to be due to settlements agreed to by Labour and the Workers. The announcement was made during a media briefing by the Minister, earlier. The general hope is that as workers are allowed to come back to work, scheduled maintenance of units will get going again. Resulting in reduced stages of loadshedding as the winter demand continues to increase.

According to Eskom, the last time and first time Stage 6 was implemented was in December of 2019.
