VRYBURG — A shack fire was reported on Rosyntjie Street in Colridge, with residents saying the affected structure burned down in an incident described as a repeat of a similar fire that occurred in January last year.

According to a community member who shared the update on social media, the street community “acted fast” after the fire broke out, while the local fire brigade is credited with responding quickly, arriving in about 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The resident said the previous fire happened at a neighbouring shack, and expressed appreciation for the unity shown by the community during the latest incident, as well as gratitude to emergency services for the swift response.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed. Further details are expected once authorities provide an official update.
