A Virtual Provincial Executive Council (EXCO) meeting was held on Tuesday, 07 July 2020, chaired by Premier Job Mokgoro, of the North West Province. During this virtual gathering, the Premier announced to those present that he is COVID19 Positive. The Provincial Government has indicated that Premier Mokgoro is in good spirits, considering the circumstances, and is effectively in self-isolation.

Premier Mokgoro is said to be capacitated to carry out his duties as he was only presented with only one symptom -which is cough – although he tested positive. According to the Office of the Premier of the North West Provincial Government,the Premier will continue to discharge his duties albeit remotely and has instructed members of the Premier’s Support Staff who have worked with him closely in the last two weeks to test; while taking the necessary precautions.
