POTCHEFSTROOM – Vryburg’s own Kamogelo Matshane, proudly representing the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District, has been crowned Miss North West Exclusive 2026 following the grand finale held on Saturday, 8 August 2026, at The Roots, in Potchefstroom.

Matshane’s victory marks the culmination of a journey that she says has transformed her confidence and strengthened her determination to use her platform to make a difference in the lives of children in her community.

Reflecting on her journey before the competition, Matshane said she never imagined herself having the confidence to enter spaces of leadership and engage with people in positions of influence.

One of the defining moments of her journey was her first-ever fashion runway appearance at the North West Queens Branch. Having experienced low self-esteem and bullying while growing up, she described the experience as an important personal breakthrough.

The newly crowned queen has also placed education, literacy and children’s development at the centre of her advocacy.

Her campaign focuses on ensuring that children in her community have opportunities to dream, read and write their own stories, with Matshane believing that every child deserves a better chance to thrive and reach their full potential.

Following her victory, Matshane expressed gratitude to her family, friends, sponsors, online supporters and the wider Vryburg and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District community for their support throughout the competition.

In a message on one of her social media platforms, celebrating her achievement, she said the early mornings and late nights invested in the journey had been worthwhile, while acknowledging that the real work now begins.

Her victory has been welcomed by supporters from the district, who have congratulated her on the achievement and praised her commitment to using the pageant platform to advance a social cause.

As Miss North West Exclusive 2026, Matshane now takes on the responsibility of representing her community while continuing to champion her vision of creating opportunities for children to learn, dream and fulfil their potential.
