Vryburg High School, in the Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District, in the North West Province has today, 22 June 2020, confirmed a COVID19 outbreak. The school confirmed these news through its Principal, Barry Fulani, who today sent out a communique to the school’s population; including learners, workers, teachers and parents. “We regret to inform you that a grade 12 learner at Vryburg High School has tested positive for Corona Virus.” Principal Fuleni announced.

The school has indicated that it has established the necessary communication with the provincial departments of Education and of Health. According to Principal Fuleni, the Department of Education has issued an instruction that no learner, teacher and worker must come to school as of Tuesday, 23 June 2020.

Self isolation has been strongly encouraged as the school waits for further directives from the Department of Health.
