A WIN AND AN AWARD AS THE BEST TEAM, A MOTIVATION FOR GOLDEN LADIES FC TO BEAT BLOEMFONTEIN CELTIC THIS SATURDAY
After going five games without a win, Golden Ladies FC went into the kraal of bottom log of SAFA Women’s National League Richmond Ladies in Northern Cape-Britstown last week to worsen their woes by snatching three points with a 0-1 victory. A goal scored by Yvonne Motlhoiwa

Much as Coach Junior Morake prepared the team, a confidence boost came in on Friday when the team during the North West Provincial Sport Awards received a team of the year award following their success by being the only team in the North West to be playing in the SAFA Women’s National League.
“The girls have done us proud, I mean from 2009 when I started this team, most of the players that I started this team with are not here, but those that remained and those that came to join from in and around the province held the flag and the spirit of Golden Ladies high.” Says Chairperson and owner Semphete Mosweusweu.

One of the club’s Golden flower Priscilla Pesa, was awarded Sports Woman of the year Award. Semphete Mosweusweu had this to say about Priscilla “She doesn’t only shine like a star, but she glitters like Gold not only in Mahikeng, not only in the province but in the gold and green colours of our women’s national team! Congratulations to her and thanks to the team that made her not only to shine but glitter…this is also a motivation to her peers to work hard”

Coach Junior Morake was also recognised by receiving an award for best coach of the year.
Last week’s win plus the three awards received by the team should boost the confidence of the the Ladies this weekend when they host Bloemfontein Celtic from Mangaung in the Free State, at Montshiwa Stadium. Kick off is at 15:00. Not only the win and the awards, but playing at home comes with with more advantages, especially when the team has its supporters rallying behind them. Celtic is in position five with three wins, and eleven points, whilst Golden Ladies FC find itself in position 8, two wins, and eight points. This is a must win for Golden Ladies as the previous home game against Durban Ladies produces negative results for the home team.
