Award-winning Limpopo star Makhadzi has given fans a raw glimpse into her recovery journey after sharing a short, newly recorded song filmed in hospital on Monday, 6 January 2026.

In the clip posted on her social media, the singer appears with visible bandages and explains that after a physiotherapy session she felt lonely, then decided to record herself on a beat she says she had received “a long time ago” but only recently found again in her messages. “I am coming back… I am healing,” she adds in the on-screen message.
Makhadzi followed up with another post reassuring supporters that she can “see and talk” and is “counting down”, while encouraging producers to keep sending beats as she plans to work on music during her recovery period.

The hospital-recorded snippet has drawn an outpouring of support online, with fans praising her resilience and turning a difficult moment into creativity. In a longer update shared on her page, Makhadzi thanked supporters for their prayers and love, saying she has been discharged and advised by her doctor to remain on home care for about 10 weeks without performing. She indicated she hopes to use the downtime to write and develop new music, promising to return when she is fully recovered.
Makhadzi’s team previously asked for privacy as she heals, saying further updates would be shared through official channels.
