Johanne Meyer shines as NW Tshukudu star named TNL Division 2 Best Centre Court Player

NORTH WEST — North West Tshukudu’s Johanné Meyer has been recognised as one of the standout performers in the 2025 Telkom Netball League (TNL) Division 2 season after being named Best Centre Court Player.

Netball South Africa announced the Division 2 “Best Players” list this week, with Meyer — who plays WA/C — earning the centre-court honour for her consistent impact throughout the campaign.

The award highlights Meyer’s influence in the engine room of the court, where the Wing Attack and Centre roles demand high work-rate, sharp decision-making, and relentless movement to link defence to attack. For NW Tshukudu, her season was marked by steady control, quick hands in transition, and the ability to keep the team’s tempo and structure intact under pressure.

Meyer’s accolade also puts a spotlight on North West netball development, with Tshukudu continuing to produce players capable of competing and excelling on a national stage.

In the same announcement, Netball South Africa listed Rehana Noah (WC Tornados) as Best Shooter, Nozipho Ntshangase (KZN Kingdom Stars) as Best Defender, and Thulisile Maduna (KZN Kingdom Stars) as MVP – Player of the Tournament.

For NW Tshukudu supporters, Meyer’s recognition is a major boost — and a sign that the province’s talent is not only competing, but leading the conversation in Division 2.
