The initial number of reported cases of the Coronavirus in the North West Province, 25, has now been revised by the Department of Health in the North West Province back to 24. According to the department, misallocation occurred in the reporting process.

The Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize on Tuesday, 22 April 2020, announced an increase in the national Coronavirus statistics. “As at today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 3 465.” Said the Minister. In his provincial break, the minister confirmed that 24 cases were from the North West Province.

Rustenburg is said to have the 45% of all the cases in the province with 11 cases. Be that as it may, on the surface it looks like the Provincial Health Department is trying all it can to put a lid on the spread. This is after they also announced that 10 of the 13 people who were recovered from the Novel Coronavirus are from the Bojanala Platinum District, that which Rustenburg is a part of.
