K9 Vryburg’s Sgt M.A. Moloi has won the Vispol Employee of the Year (Level 5–7) at the North West Provincial Service Excellence Awards. The citation notes his search-and-rescue work in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati (Dr RSM) District—retrieving 16 drowning victims, locating six people alive with K9 partner Jess, and arresting seven suspects in a Vryburg kidnapping case—alongside enforcement actions that built public trust.

Dr RSM officers featured prominently across categories:
• Sgt R.I. Koki (Vispol Vryburg) – 1st runner-up in the same category, recognised for extensive enforcement under the Second-Hand Goods, Liquor, Stock Theft and Immigration Acts, plus multiple drug-related arrests.

• Capt V. Nkuna (Vryburg Garage) – 2nd runner-up, Admin Employee of the Year (Level 8–12).

• W/O M.E. Boise (Ipelegeng Detectives) – 2nd runner-up, Detective Services Employee of the Year (Level 5–7).

• A.D. Van Wyk (Pudimoe SAPS) – 2nd runner-up, Admin Employee of the Year (Level 2–4).

• R/W/O W. Kleingeld (Vryburg) – 2nd runner-up, Reservist of the Year.

In messages published with the awards, Acting Provincial Commissioner Maj-Gen (Dr) G. Naidoo praised nominees for “setting a standard of distinction” in the province, while the MEC for Community Safety and Transport Managementsaid the awards aim to inspire officers to go above and beyond despite tough conditions.
Why it matters for the district: Beyond the trophy, the results spotlight Dr RSM personnel who keep vehicles on the road, investigate serious crimes, and support frontline policing—evidence of a broad bench of local talent backing community safety.
Congratulations to Sgt Moloi and all nominees from our district.
