The Chief Whip Democratic Alliance in the North West Province, Freddy Sonakile, has set the tone of what the party’s position is as far as the newly appointed chairpersons of Standing Committees and Portfolio Committees are concern. Sonakile dismissed most of the appointees , if not all of them as unfit to hold office, calling them “bad apples in one basket”

According to Sonakile, The Democratic Alliance (DA) in North West is disappointed, but not surprised at the failing ANC’s Portfolio Committee Chairpersons.

“The ANC is clearly not serious about clean governance and the DA will keep a watchful eye on all Chairpersons of Portfolio Committees. We are committed to exercising our oversight role by continuing to keep the ANC accountable for poor governance.” Sonakile said
