MAHIKENG – A 36-year-old woman has died and a 43-year-old man was injured following an alleged domestic dispute linked to a love triangle at Ikopeleng Village, near Ramatlabama, in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District.

According to police, officers responded to a complaint at around 03:15 on Monday, 7 July 2026, where they found the body of a naked woman with multiple stab wounds outside a residential yard. A man with stab wounds to his upper body was also found at the scene and rushed to hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the injured man allegedly arrived home with another woman while his two children were at the house. The children reportedly contacted their mother, who was staying nearby.

Police allege that when the 40-year-old woman arrived home, she found her husband with the other woman in their bedroom. She allegedly armed herself with a knife and stabbed both of them. The female victim reportedly managed to flee the house but collapsed outside the yard, where she died from her injuries.

The 40-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear before the Mmabatho Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 July 2026, facing charges of murder and attempted murder.

Acting Ngaka Modiri Molema District Commissioner, Brigadier (Adv) Bigboy Dube, condemned the incident and commended police for their swift response and the prompt arrest of the suspect. He urged members of the public to resolve disputes through peaceful and lawful means rather than resorting to violence.
