A recent joint operation by Vryburg Crime Intelligence, the K9 Unit, and Visible Policing has led to the arrest of three women and two men on charges related to the possession of suspected stolen goods. The accused individuals are scheduled to appear in the Vryburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15 July 2024, for a continuation of their bail application process.

The arrests occurred following a surveillance operation prompted by intelligence suggesting the occupants of a silver Toyota Corolla were involved in theft from various shops in Vryburg. Acting on this information, law enforcement officers intercepted the vehicle and conducted a thorough search. During the search, police discovered plastic bags containing new clothes, pairs of shoes, and other merchandise, all bearing price tags amounting to R57,870.00. The occupants, aged between 58 and 62, were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the origin of the goods and were subsequently taken into custody.
