The Naledi Municipality Taxi Association (NAMTA) has extended its condolences to the family of former North West Premier Kaobitsa “Bushy” Maape following his passing.
In a condolence message issued this week, the association described Maape as a leader committed to improving the lives of ordinary citizens through initiatives aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, and infrastructure development across the province.
“We, the members of the Naledi Municipality Taxi Association, extend our deepest condolences to you during this difficult time,” the message read.

The association further praised Maape for understanding the struggles faced by communities and for working tirelessly to address socio-economic challenges with “compassion and determination.”
The message was signed by NAMTA Chairperson J.M. Machogo on behalf of the association.
Maape, a former North West Premier and struggle veteran, passed away on Saturday, 16 May 2026, after a short illness.
