According to spokesperson of the SAPS NW , Adéle Myburgh, a 21-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Koster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 11 March on a charge of house robbery that was reported on Friday, 8 March 2019 in Derby, near Koster.

“It is alleged that a 58-year-old woman was at her house in Derby at about 12:45, when she heard a loud bang on the roof of her house. She then went outside to investigate, but was allegedly attacked and hit with an iron pipe on the head when she entered her house. The suspect fled the scene after grabbing the victim’s hand bag containing a cellular phone, purse and personal documents.” Myburgh accounted .
The victim was taken to a local hospital where she is still being treated for the injuries sustained during the attack. This is after, the victim’s husband, who is disabled and using a wheelchair, managed to contact the neighbours who summoned help.
Myburgh also confirmed that the suspect was successfully traced and arrested in the early hours on Saturday, 9 March 2019. Upon arrest, the police recovered most of the stolen items that were found in possession of the suspect.
