Accused to apply for bail after Vryburg police find 19 goats on the N14

VRYBURG — A 32-year-old man, Tebogo Kelokilwe, is expected to reappear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, for a bail application following his arrest for the possession of suspected stolen stock.

North West police said, in a media statement, that Kelokilwe was arrested on Saturday morning, 27 December 2025, by Vryburg Visible Policing officers during routine patrols on the N14 road between Kuruman and Vryburg. Officers stopped a suspicious white Toyota Hilux and, during questioning, lifted the green cover at the back of the bakkie where they discovered 19 goats valued at about R30,000.

Police allege the accused failed to account for the livestock, leading to his arrest. The vehicle, the goats and three cellphones were confiscated as part of the investigation.

Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General (Dr) Ryno Naidoo commended the officers for their vigilance, which led to the arrest and recovery.
