Concern grows as Stella man remains missing since 9 December

STELLA — As the festive season draws to a close, a family in Stella, near Vryburg, is facing painful uncertainty after a 61-year-old man, Mojaki Stoun, went missing earlier this month.

North West police say Stoun, who lives on Marst Street in Stella, was last seen by his nephew at about 15:15 on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, when he left home to go to a farm. He never returned.

Police in Stella launched searches in surrounding areas and followed up on leads, but without success. With days turning into weeks, the case has become a community concern — highlighting the vulnerability many families face in rural areas where distances are long, phone signal can be unreliable and travel to farms is part of everyday life.

At the time he disappeared, Stoun was wearing black jean trousers and a brown-and-black striped T-shirt. Police describe him as dark in complexion, about 1.85m tall, medium-built, with short grey hair, a short grey beard and grey moustache.

Police are calling on residents, farmworkers, motorists and anyone who may have seen Stoun — or noticed anything unusual on the route to nearby farms — to share information that could assist the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officer, Constable Dikatso Nkoto, on 076 838 5933. Tips can also be reported to the nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or anonymously via the MySAPS App.
