The Police in Potchefstroom have launched a search operation after the disappearance of  16-year-old Boitumelo Phoko of house number 11132 Bontle Street, Extention7, Ikageng, near Potchefstroom.

Boitumelo was last seen on Monday, 30 September 2019, when she allegedly boarded a taxi from Wolmaransstad to Potchefstroom, back to her father to attend school. The taxi arrived at Klerksdorp and she was helped by the Taxi driver to enter the taxi which departed to Potchefstroom. Boitumelo never arrived in Potchefstroom. She was wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, black airforce tekkies and carrying a black, medium Avroy Shlain bag.  She is said to be light in complexion and has short hair and dark eyes.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit conducted searches at her relatives and friends and followed-up on information that was provided regarding her possible whereabouts, with no success.
