TAUNG – Magalies Water has announced planned water supply interruptions affecting the Pudumoe and Taung Water Supply Systems from 20 to 26 July 2026 due to the annual Dry Week Period.
According to a notice issued on Thursday, 16 July 2026, the planned interruption will affect several communities, including Huhudi, Pudumoe, Dryharts, Mathlako I and II, Mogopela, Randstad, Myra, Manokwane, Nommer 1, Nhole, Chief’s Court, Ditshilong, Veertien, Richblock, Lokaleng, Khibitswane, Cokonyane, Pinagare, Extensions 4, 6 and 7, Taung Station, Rooival, Matolong, Itireleng, Santapan, Maphoitsile, Gamodiana, Magogong, Donkerhoek, Diplankeng, Modutung and Modutung Escarpment.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use water sparingly throughout the interruption period.
Magalies Water apologised for the inconvenience and said every effort will be made to restore water supply as soon as possible once the Dry Week programme has been completed.
According to a local Water and Sanitation Expert, Magalies Water’s Dry Week is usually scheduled once a year and may involve:
- Inspecting and repairing pipelines, valves and pumps.
- Servicing reservoirs and water treatment equipment.
- Replacing worn or damaged infrastructure.
- Conducting preventative maintenance to reduce unexpected breakdowns during the rest of the year.
Because water flow must be reduced or stopped while this work is done, residents and businesses in affected areas often experience low water pressure or temporary water outages.
