MOROKWENG — In a strong show of community pride and investment in education, the Kagisano Taxi Association has fulfilled its pledge by donating R10,000 to top-performing learner Temogo Matong.

The donation, confirmed in a community update, by Setswakgosing Secondary School, dated 27 January 2026, was described as a gesture of support and belief in academic excellence — signalling how local organisations can play a direct role in motivating young people to aim higher.

Supporters praised the taxi association and individuals mentioned in the message, including Thato Maoko Setlhabetsi, Chairperson of the association, for “investing in the future” and reinforcing the idea that when communities stand behind their children, success becomes more achievable.

According to the Chairperson, the donation should be seen as a way of the taxi industry giving back to the community it serves and should also serve as an encouragement to the matric class of 2026, not only in Setswakgosing, but to all the schools in the Kagisano Molopo villages. 

The donation adds to the growing recognition Matong has received following his academic achievements, and it highlights a wider culture of community-driven encouragement — where excellence is not only celebrated, but also practically supported.
