The South African national U-15 boys and girls football teams delivered outstanding performances on the first day of the CAF African Schools Football Championship (COSAFA Qualifiers) in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

In the boys’ competition, South Africa secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Zimbabwe in their opening match, followed by an emphatic 3-0 win over Angola. These wins place South Africa at the top of Group B, with 6 points, cementing their position as one of the favorites to progress in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the girls’ team was equally impressive, dominating their group with a 7-0 triumph over Zimbabwe, followed by an incredible 13-0 victory against Angola. With such decisive results, South Africa leads Group B with 6 points and an impressive goal difference of +20, highlighting their formidable strength on the field.

The results reflect South Africa’s determination to defend their title at the COSAFA Qualifier, as they aim to secure a spot in the continental stage of the CAF African Schools Football Championship.
