Mamusa Karate Dojo stands as a beacon of martial arts excellence in
Schweizer Reneke. Founded in 2022 by the esteemed Sensei Kabelo Seetelo, a seasoned Black Belt practitioner trained in Japan, this community-based karate club has swiftly carved its mark in the world of Shinkyokushinkai karate.
Reflecting on their journey, Sensei Kabelo Seetelo shares, “Success does not mean that we havenāt had our own challenges to overcome over the years, but we have definitely been growing at our pace, and there’s room for more.” This spirit of resilience and growth permeates every aspect of Mamusa Karate Dojo.
At Mamusa Karate Dojo, the emphasis extends beyond physical prowess; it’s about nurturing holistic development. Students not only learn the art of self-defense but also cultivate self-confidence, awareness, discipline, and respect. “Karate does not only abide by fighting or physical protection but is also teachings of life,” emphasizes Sensei Kabelo Seetelo.
The dojo’s dedication to excellence is mirrored in its official recognition by the World Karate Organization (WKO) Shinkyokushinkai. Their international affiliations and Dan (Black Belt) grades registered with the Department of Education in Japan underscore the club’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
Participation in various events and tournaments has been a cornerstone of Mamusa Karate Dojo’s journey. From provincial championships to international competitions, the club has showcased the prowess and discipline instilled in its students. Events like the Christiana Tournament, Pretoria Tournament, Matlosana 11 Tournament, and the Durban Tournament bear testimony to their active involvement in the karate community.
In a notable milestone, Mamusa Karate Dojo organized its inaugural tournament at the Multipurpose Center in Schweizer Reneke. This event not only highlighted the club’s organizational skills but also provided a platform for budding karateka to exhibit their skills and spirit.
Looking ahead, Mamusa Karate Dojo envisions continued growth, creating more job opportunities, and offering unparalleled experiences to its students and the community. With a focus on diligence, respect, and discipline, the dojo remains a nurturing ground for champions both on and off the mat.
