Taxi Associations Agree on R18 Fare for Vryburg Routes

VRYBURG – Commuters travelling between Vryburg, Huhudi and Extensions 25 and 28 will pay a new standard taxi fare from 1 July 2026, following an agreement between the Naledi Local and Long Distance Taxi Association (NALLDTA)and the Naledi Municipality Taxi Association (NAMTA).

A public notice issued by NALLDTA confirms that the two taxi associations have reached an agreement to increase the fare on the affected routes from R15 to R18.

The decision follows recent discussions between the two associations aimed at introducing a single, common fare structure after confusion arose when the associations previously charged different prices on the same routes.

The unified fare is expected to provide greater clarity for commuters by ensuring that passengers travelling on the Huhudi and Extension 25/28 routes pay the same amount regardless of which association’s taxi they use.

Commuters are advised that the R18 fare will come into effect on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

The agreement marks the latest step in efforts by the two taxi associations to work together on matters affecting both operators and the commuting public.
