Naledi Local Municipality Celebrates Successful Service Delivery Blitz in Stella and Colridge

The Naledi Local Municipality has once again demonstrated its commitment to effective service delivery through the Thuntsa Lerole Service Delivery Blitz in Stella and Colridge. This initiative saw the official handover of two significant projects, showcasing Naledi’s dedication to fulfilling promises made to its residents and stakeholders.

On Friday, the 3rd of May 2024, marked a historic day as residents of Kismet and Colridge celebrated the completion and official handover of two newly paved roads: Kismet Avenue, adjacent to Kismet Park, and Ben De-Klerk in Colridge. The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests including Naledi Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr CJ Groep, Speaker Cllr P Gulane, MMC for Community Services Cllr F Mgida, MMC for Technical Services Cllr Letshwene, Ward 4 Councillor S Wilson, Municipal Manager MT Segapo, Naledi Officials, and representatives from various government departments.

Mayor Cllr CJ Groep expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “This is just the beginning of everything; bigger things are still ahead.” He emphasized the importance of unity between the council and the community, highlighting that only through collaboration can significant positive change be achieved.

The handover of these projects not only signifies substantial developments but also reflects Naledi’s commitment to job creation and uplifting local SMMEs. Over 70 jobs were created during the implementation of these projects, providing much-needed opportunities for community members. Local businesses also benefited as they were subcontracted for various aspects of the projects.

The joy and gratitude expressed by community members were palpable, with many acknowledging the positive impact these developments will have on their daily lives. The presence of various government departments and private sectors during the ceremony further reinforced Naledi’s dedication to holistic community development, ensuring that residents have access to essential services and support.

Stella residents, in particular, were overwhelmed with relief and happiness as they received assistance and services from government departments and private sectors, including SASSA, GOGHTA, The Health Department, Department of Social Development, Department of Home Affairs, ABSA, among others.

As Naledi Municipality continues its journey of service to the people, today’s events serve as a reminder of the power of unity and collaboration in building better, more resilient communities. The sense of hope and optimism pervading the atmosphere reflects a shared belief in a brighter future for all residents of Naledi.
