Members of the South African National Defense Forces’ (SANDF) South African Military Health Service (SAMHS) deployment was seen on Market Street, in Vryburg on Monday, 18 May 2020, carrying out COVID19 Screenings on members of the public.

The South African Military Health Service is the branch of the SANDF responsible for medical facilities and the training and deployment of all medical personnel within the force. Military Health

Military Health is now working in partnership with the Department of Health to combat COVID19.

There is no confirmed coronavirus positive cases in the Vryburg. However, 2 cases exist in the Dr. Ruth Segomutsi Mompati District’s Bloemhof, one of the being an active case. According to the Department of Health in the North West Province, almost 2 Million screenings have been conducted in the province. Those referred for test from the lot are almost 2000.

“A total of 984 contacts of the 72 confirmed cases were identified and 94% (925) were successfully traced. We thank our tracing teams, nurses, doctors, paramedics and all healthcare workers who continue to serve with pride during these difficult times.” Confirmed the Provincial Department.
