The Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District, in the North West Province, has a almost 1,5 per cent contribution to the province’s burden of the coronavirus. As at Saturday, 04 July 2020, the number of accumulated COVID-19 positive cases totaled 82 in the district. This is from the provincial total of 5644 cases, amongst these, 493 are newly reported cases. The district had fewer new cases in this report as compared to previous day when 14 new cases were reported. On this report the district reported only 5 new positive cases.
Numbers in the one of the Dr. RSM District’s Local municipality, Naledi, also continue to rise. The area has surpassed Lekwa-Teemane Local municipality with the number of confirmed cases making it the epicenter of the virus in the district with 26 cases.

No new deaths related to COVID-19 were announced in the past 24 hours in the province. The number of people who lost their lives to COVID-19 in the North West Province remained at 36, while the Department of Health, through a statement, announced 74 new deaths. “This brings the total deaths to 3026.” Said the Department.
The Provincial Department of Health has advised citizens to play their part by continuing to observe social distancing and by wearing face masks when in public.
