The Vryburg community came together on 15 March 2024 to deliver a memorandum to the Vryburg Police Station regarding the investigation into the disappearance of Selwyn Vry. Selwyn Vry, aged 34, has been missing since 26 August 2023, leaving his family and friends deeply concerned.

The Democratic Alliance Naledi has taken an active role in raising awareness and mobilizing support for finding Selwyn Vry. Through their community campaign, “STILL MISSING: Selwyn Vry,” they are urging everyone to imagine if it was their own child and to consider the relentless effort they would make to find them.

In their call to action, the Democratic Alliance Naledi invited the community, and all affected, to join them for a picket at the Vryburg Police Station on 15 March 2024 at 10:00. The purpose of the picket was to hand over a memorandum urging the authorities to intensify efforts and resources in the search for Selwyn Vry.

Transport arrangements were made for those willing to participate, with pickups scheduled from 20 Langeveldt Street in Colridge starting at 09:00.

Selwyn Vry is described as tall with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen around the club area in Colridge on 26 August 2023, wearing a black sweater and blue jeans.

The campaign provided contact numbers (081 852 5103, 072 748 2974, 060 583 3823) for anyone with information or leads to reach out and assist in locating Selwyn Vry.

In addition to the picket and memorandum handover, a search party, composed of other political parties, including the Patriotic Alliance, community members, family, friends, businesspersons and other members of the broader district community, was organized for 17 March 2024, starting at 9 AM in front of the Rooisaal in Colridge. The search party aimed to comb through the area and gather any possible clues that could aid in the investigation.

The concerted efforts of the community, spearheaded by the Democratic Alliance Naledi, highlight the unity and determination to bring Selwyn Vry home safely. Their proactive approach and collaborative spirit serve as a beacon of hope in times of distress and uncertainty.
