The case involving the alleged murder of 39-year-old Morney Renay Rygaardt returned to the Vryburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 8 June 2026.

The accused, Samantha Rygaardt (32), appeared briefly before the court and was remanded in custody. The matter was postponed to Monday, 15 June 2026, for further proceedings.

Rygaardt faces a charge of murder following an incident that allegedly occurred in Colridge, Vryburg, during the early hours of Saturday, 6 June 2026. Police previously reported that Morney Renay Rygaardt died after allegedly being stabbed in the upper body following an argument at the couple’s residence.

No plea has been entered at this stage, and investigations into the matter are continuing.

As the case proceeds through the courts, Samantha Rygaardt remains in custody pending her next appearance.
