EDITORIAL – Kgalaletso Molomonyane’s Journey to the Miss Naledi 2025 Crown: Purpose, Perseverance and Community at the Centre

For Kgalaletso Molomonyane, the Miss Naledi 2025 crown is not simply a title, but the culmination of months of hard work, discipline and a deep commitment to community upliftment. On Saturday evening, 13 December 2025, her journey was rewarded when she was crowned Miss Naledi 2025 at the Naledi Local Municipality Theatre in Vryburg.

Long before stepping onto the stage, Molomonyane distinguished herself through consistent preparation and meaningful community work. As part of her Miss Naledi journey, she actively participated in outreach initiatives, including visits to vulnerable communities and support programmes aimed at restoring dignity and confidence, particularly among young girls. Her work at the Thusanang Centre in Huhudi, where she donated sanitary towels to learners with disabilities, reflected a values-driven approach that set her apart throughout the competition.

Molomonyane’s campaign was built on service, empathy and leadership. She used her platform to advocate for dignity, youth development and women empowerment, demonstrating that pageantry can be a vehicle for real social impact. Judges and supporters alike noted her consistency, confidence and clarity of purpose — qualities that ultimately carried her to the top.

Her crowning took place in the presence of North West MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT), Bitsa Lenkopane, whose department supported the pageant alongside the North West Parks & Tourism Board. MEC Lenkopane emphasised that the Miss Naledi Pageant goes beyond beauty, serving as a platform that connects young women’s aspirations with tangible economic opportunities.

As the overall winner, Molomonyane will receive start-up machinery and equipment valued at R300,000, a package designed to help transform her business ideas into sustainable enterprises. The support forms part of DEDECT’s broader empowerment programme, which also includes business registration assistance, entrepreneurship training and mentorship for all contestants.

For Molomonyane, the support represents an opportunity to expand the impact of the work she has already begun. Her journey to the crown has been defined by resilience, preparation and a genuine desire to uplift others — qualities that position her as a role model for young women across Naledi and the wider North West province.

As Miss Naledi 2025, Kgalaletso Molomonyane now steps into her role with a clear mandate: to lead with purpose, to serve with compassion, and to turn ambition into opportunity — both for herself and for the communities she represents.
