VRYBURG (Klondike Lodge), 26–28 Nov 2025 — The Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati Education District has convened a three-day District Strategic Lekgotla, bringing together sub-directorates for in-depth planning and alignment ahead of the 2026 academic year.

District Director Mojakhumo Dithejane opened the session with a focused address on purpose and outcomes, setting a results-oriented tone for the engagements. According to Dithejane, the lekgotla aims to craft plans that are:
• Results-driven and performance-oriented,
• Aligned to provincial and national imperatives,
• Purposeful and impactful in improving learning outcomes,
• Decisive on audit shortcomings and goal-directed,
• SMART, structured, implementable and coordinated,
• Embedded in daily practice and discipline, and
• A clear road map from current performance to a 95% academic results target.

Over the three days, sub-directorates are workshopping priorities, timelines and accountability measures to translate strategy into classroom-level action. The programme, underway since Wednesday, is scheduled to conclude on Friday, 28 November.

































Officials say the lekgotla’s outputs will guide performance compacts, monitoring tools and targeted support for schools across the district as the 2026 academic cycle approaches.
