Eskom’s Explanation
Eskom stated that the implementation of Stage 6 loadshedding from 01:30 AM today is due to:
• Multiple unit failures at Camden Power Station.
• Additional trips at Majuba and Medupi Power Stations, losing a combined 3,864 MW of power.
• Ongoing maintenance accounting for 7,506 MW.
• The need to replenish emergency reserves for the coming week.
What This Means for Residents
Residents are advised to:
• Plan accordingly, especially for cooking and charging essential devices.
• Use water sparingly, as water pumping stations may be affected.
• Consider alternative lighting and power sources.
Eskom’s Next Update
Eskom has scheduled a media briefing at 11:00 AM today to provide further details about the power crisis. Residents should stay updated via official Eskom channels or local media.
The Vryburg Independent Post will continue to monitor and update the community on any changes to the loadshedding schedule.
