An increase of 6 new COVID19 cases have been reported in the North West Province. A total of 58 cases were confirmed by the Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize on Thursday, 14 May 2020. The Minister made his daily announcement of South Africa’s coronavirus infection rate. “As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 12 739” said the Minister.

This, today, is an increase of 665 new COVID19 cases in the 24 hours that was. A further 19 COVID19 deaths in South Africa were reported by the Minister. The country now has a total of 238 COVID19 related deaths.

Encouragingly, the country has also recorded an increase of 931 new recoveries. These recoveries include 4 from the North West Province. The Provincial Health Department, through its social media pages, confirmed the total recovery in the province to be 28.

The North West Province still has only one fatality that is related to the novel coronavirus.
