The North West Province saw its confirmed number of COVID-19 cases change from 36, reported on the 03 May 2020, to 35 on Monday, 04 May 2020. This, according to the Department of Health in the province, was because of an incident of a misallocated case during the ongoing verification process.

The Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize’s daily COVID-19 Statistics report brought about no change to the North West Province today. As of Tuesday, 05 May 2020, 7572 South Africans have been confirmed to have contracted the Novel coronavirus. The North West Province remains at 35. This is from 268 064 tests conducted nationally. “Regrettably, we report 10 more COVID-19 related deaths: 7 from Western Cape 1 from Eastern Cape, 1 from KZN and 1 from Gauteng. This brings the total deaths nationally to 148.” Reported the Minister.

No deaths have been reported in the North West Province. Be that as it may, the Provincial Health Department have confirmed that 4 of the 15 active cases in the province are being treated in hospital.
