A Ministry Rooted in Purpose

The Sons of Allen, established by the AME Church in 1984, is a global men’s fellowship designed to foster strong relationships among men, equip them for meaningful service, and recruit men both within the church and in the wider community.

The ministry addresses social and spiritual challenges facing men, including economic hardship, lack of positive role models, and disconnection from the church, while promoting values such as responsibility, discipline, and faith-based leadership.

Message of Commitment and Responsibility

Delivering closing remarks, President Brother Mahlomola J. Khasu emphasised the importance of gratitude and accountability, quoting local figure Ambassador Darkey Africa: “Ingratitude amongst individuals is a capital crime.”

He further encouraged men to embrace biblical principles of strength and leadership, referencing 1 Corinthians, which calls on believers to “be watchful” and steadfast in faith. He concluded by reaffirming the group’s commitment to the teachings of Proverbs 27:17, highlighting unity and mutual growth among men.

Strengthening the Church and Community

The launch of the Sons of Allen Gabashane Unit signals a renewed focus on empowering men to take active roles in both spiritual and community development. The initiative is expected to play a key role in mentoring young men, promoting positive values, and strengthening the church’s impact within the community.

The service concluded with a message of hope and encouragement, as the newly inducted members begin their journey of faith, leadership and service.
