BLOEMHOF – Residents in parts of Bloemhof and Christiana are expected to experience water supply interruptions from 7 July to 23 July 2026 as Magalies Water undertakes maintenance work at the Bloemhof Dam.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, Magalies Water said water releases from the dam will be reduced to a minimum during the maintenance period before normal operations resume once the work has been completed.
The areas expected to be affected include Bloemhof Town, Boitumelong, Salamati, Caverdale, Christiana Town, Utlwanang, Geluksoord and Geluksoord Extension.

Residents have been urged to use water sparingly throughout the maintenance period to help minimise the impact of the reduced supply.
Magalies Water apologised for the inconvenience and appealed to affected communities to conserve water until the maintenance project is completed on 23 July 2026.
