HUHUDI– A murder investigation is underway following the body of a 40-year-old woman was found inside a shack in Huhudi’s Extension 1, popularly known as Polar Park. 

According to information provided to The Vryburg Independent Post Team (The VIP Team) in response to a media enquiry, the incident was reported to police on Tuesday morning, 3 February 2026. According to Dr. RSM District SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Tryphosa van Rooyen, allegations are that the victim and a 24-year-old suspect were together on Saturday evening and into the early hours of Sunday, 1 February 2026, when an argument broke out between them.

Police further allege that during the argument the suspect strangled the victim.

The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 4 February 2026.

Police investigations are continuing.
